Lucy Marcus

Lucy Marcus’s essays and fiction have appeared in Kestrel, The Scribes Valley Publishing Anthology, New Reader Magazine, and 805 Art + Lit. She received the Melanie Hook Rice Award in the Novel in 2018 and 2019, the 2019 Melanie Hook Rice Award in Creative Nonfiction, the 2018 Andrew James Purdy Prize for Short Fiction, and was a finalist for the Sherwood Anderson Short Story Award from Mid-American Review

She received her B.A. in English and Global Development Studies from Grinnell University and her M.F.A. in Creative writing from Hollins University where she was a teaching fellow and graduate assistant. 

Marcus lives in New York and works as an Adjunct English Professor at Borough of Manhattan Community College.
