We’re launching Story Online

Issue 2 Ad

Issue 2 Ad

First, a very special thank you to all of you who’ve signed up for our newsletter, or talked to us at AWP back in March, or hung out with us at Conversations and Connections in DC, or at the Yale Writer’s Conference. And a very special thank you to those who submitted your work and purchased copies of Issue 1 or subscriptions. It has been, without question, a tremendous year so far, and for that we thank all of you who’ve been a part of it. Some new members have joined our team too. Please welcome our official New York Editor, Ryan Britt; Editorial Assistants, Sarah Walsh and Juliana Lyon; Copy Editor, Jaleasha Ruth; Intern, Dani Elizondo; and Editorial Advisory Board Member David Althoff.

We’re currently putting the final touches on Issue 2 and will be sending it off to the printers soon. Yeah, we’re pretty excited about that too.

We are also launching a little something extra this week. Starting right now, we will be publishing new fiction, poetry, and essays online. Our first publication will be a short story by Curtis Smith titled, “Blood.”

Also, you may have already noticed we’ve opened submissions specifically for online submissions. Ideally, we’d like these stories, poems, and essays to coincide with the current print issue theme. We’d really like to see things that may not really work in print. Maybe some graphic heavy or animated work. Maybe some video or tap essays. Or maybe just a traditionalpiece we may have missed for the print issue that knocks the wind out of us.So if you have something about Monsters you’d like to share, submit. If you have something about migration, go for it. Soon, we will also be looking for writers for book reviews, interviews, and story/narrative related articles to share with our online readers.
