Everyone is Welcome Here

We have a busy month ahead of us as Story comes back into the world. With the new issue, there are always a bunch of seemingly small issues, events, or concerns that end up rippling out in a big way. We’re doing our best to remember how perfect is the enemy of good (or something like that) and that just getting our new issue and the wonderful work inside into production, mailed out, and in front of readers is a great thing, and that any bumps and bruises (or fractures) that happen along the way, well, that’s all right.
So! With that extremely optimistic attitude, we want to reach as many of you as we can and celebrate our magazine. Here are two events we have coming up this month:
Spring Launch Party
Our new issue is out this month and we wanted to throw a small celebratory event in our new hometown of Columbus, Ohio. If you live in the area, I would love for you to swing by and say hello. Here’s what you need to know:
Friday, March 22nd, 7 to 9 pm
Wild Goose Creative
2491 Summit St.
Columbus, OH 43202
We’re suggesting a $10 donation, you can RSVP here which is helpful for getting a count on supplies, but you’re welcome to donate at the door on the night of the launch. Also, the suggested donation is just that: a suggestion. We just want everyone to feel welcome.Every attendee gets a copy of the new issue, which is incredible and the whole reason to publish a literary magazine at all: to read wonderful stories. We’ll also have food and drink, nothing fancy, but enough to make you happy. Our entire board will be in attendance and (I’m pretty sure) contributors to both the current issue and the next issue. If all you have is fifteen minutes, that’s cool: swing by, say hello. The entire Story team would love the chance to know our Columbus arts community a little better.
AWP
Perhaps you have heard of this conference? Maybe? Not sure?
Bad humor aside, Story will has a table in the book fair. We will be at table #1062. We booked our spot a wee bit late, so if you’re wondering where we will be located, picture that one row at every AWP book fair that is sorta of a ghost town. That’s us! Come visit us in ghost town! We will have snazzy copies of our new issue, super friendly and chatty editors of the magazine, and perhaps one or two other surprises, too. We are lovely people worth talking to, especially after we’ve had our first cup of overpriced coffee. We also give excellent directions to the nearest food kiosk or restroom. It’s what we’re there for.
