The 2nd Annual Story Foundation Prize Winner

womanly words

We are proud to announce the winner of our second annual Story Foundation Prize. We have selected “Womanly Words” by Karl Taro Greenfeld of Pacific Palisades, California, as this year’s prize winner. His story will be featured in our summer 2021 issue, which will be released in June.

In addition, our staff selected seven finalists. These are:

“Story Problem Problem” by Heather Aronson
“The Cock Chimbi” by George Choundas
“Miss October of the Pines” by Becky Hagenston
“Diedrick Dodge” by Eric Roe
“Voces Immortalis” by Randolph Thomas
“The Kennebunk Connection” by Aaron Tillman
“A Separate Species” by E.M. Tran

This year, we received twice as many entries as we did for the inaugural Story Foundation Prize, making our decision particularly challenging and rewarding. We are grateful to all the writers for the opportunity to read and consider their work. Karl’s story will be featured in our forthcoming summer 2020 issue alongside writers such as Brad Felver, Blair Hurley, Matt Fiander, and Julie Beals, among many others.
